Richard Florida, the professor who has transformed the way we understand the urban phenomena and author of "
The Rise of the Creative Class", suggests through
his blog an interesting new Index. He has supported the idea of a journalist to introduce an "airport index" to improve the global index of human quality of cities and countries that most consulting firms deliver each year. His thought is based on the common thinking that the first impression we get in a city (airport) reflects what we are expected to find later on. He points out that Dubai and Shanghai airports are good examples of the positioning of their respective cities. Richard Florida's post adds some more salt & pepper to Barcelona's airport discussion.
